Gun Lake & Parx Interactive to Launch Sports Betting Platform in Michigan

The Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians (Pottawatomi Indians) of Michigan and Parx Interactive will launch an online sports betting platform on August 2, 2021. For the Pottawatomi Indians to operate an online gaming platform, they must first have an online platform provider. In this case, it is Parx Interactive. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), Detroit, Michigan approved the online partnership’s application. The MGCB said there are currently 14 operating partnerships in Michigan offering both online sports betting and casino gaming. The MGCB regulates gaming activities in Michigan. They are responsible to ensure honest and fair gaming operations. It licenses commercial Detroit casinos, online sports betting and gaming operators, suppliers, platform providers, and affiliate marketers. In addition, they regulate horse racing and charitable gaming.

The Pottawatomi Indians are in western Michigan. The Tribe has operated the Gun Lake Casino since 2003. The Gun Lake Casino offers casino table games, slots, bonanza bucks, and sportsbooks. Previously, on April 23, 2021, the Tribe launched its online gambling casino at PlayGunLake.com. The online casino is on the Playtech platform which supplies Gun Lake with the casino gaming software.

Online casino gambling and sports betting were legalized in Michigan during the fall of 2020. In January 2021 the Governer signed into law regulations that allow for legalized online gaming operations.
